CAPSULA is a specialty coffee shop in the heart of La Punta, in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, created for those who enjoy well-crafted coffee—without complications or pretense. We are a small, minimalist space focused on what matters most: good coffee, good beans, and good decisions in every cup.

We work exclusively with specialty coffee beans, focusing on local and sustainable growers as well as innovative and quality roasters. We care about the entire process, from the origin of the bean to the final extraction.

Our goal is to highlight what each coffee has to say on its own: its aromas, natural sweetness, acidity, and character. That’s why we pay special attention to filter methods such as V60, Origami, French press, and AeroPress, as well as precisely prepared espresso-based drinks.

At CAPSULA, we believe coffee doesn’t need fancy accoutrements to be memorable. We prefer clarity over excess, balance over noise. And while we have strong opinions on certain topics (such as the use of sweeteners), we’re not coffee evangelists. We simply want you, whether you’re a harcdore specilaty coffee or a more casual consumer, to enjoy a beautifully-crafted cup of coffee.

We are curious—we like to invite people to taste, to discover, and to form their own opinions. There are no strict rules here about how coffee “should” be enjoyed—only the intention to offer you a cup that you’ll enjoy.

We’re primarily designed for coffee to go, but we’re always happy to chat about coffee with our customers. Whether you’re on the way to the beach, to work, or simply looking for the pleasure of a good cup, our goal is to offer the very best coffee we can in Puerto Escondido.
